Artist Workshops

Do you have a love of Coquitlam? If so, volunteer and be part of the City’s milestone celebration!

One-of-a-Kind Opportunity

Actors and writers help us tell our community’s stories. You can help us collect, write or tell the stories of Coquitlam. We welcome both novice and experienced writers and actors. Maybe you have a special skill or a life-long passion you want to explore.

ATTEND FREE, PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS AND GET THE CHANCE TO HONE YOUR CRAFT.

LITERARY WORKSHOP

You will work with professional writers researching the stories of Coquitlam and writing blogs to bring those stories to life. Learn about story structure, interviewing skills, and blogging. Get published, build up your resume and have lots of fun doing what you love!

HISTORICAL CHARACTER WORKSHOPS

You will work with professional performers researching the stories of Coquitlam, and creating the characters to bring those stories alive. You will get to work on improvisation, character development, voice, movement, breath, and play theatre games, foster new friendship while having lots of fun!

Each session builds on the last, so it’s preferable that participants attend all workshops in the series they choose: literary or historical character.
Workshops are hosted by our Community Engagement Artists, the Artists Rendering Tales Collective Inc., a collaborative group of artists specializing in several different artistic disciplines, and providing inclusive opportunities for creative exploration and life skills development.
